David Harms, Landscape Artist

David Harms is a contemporary American landscape oil painter, musician and actor based in Aurora, Colorado. He is best known for his impressionistic oil paintings that capture the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the American West.

Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, David attended Colorado State University. Harms had a lengthy career as a professional drummer and actor before focusing on painting in the late 90s. Harms specializes in oil landscapes, often painting en plein air (outdoors) to capture authentic light and atmosphere. David credits his development to time spent with artist Michael Lynch and his participation in workshops with the Plein Air Painters of America.

"Autumn Morning Light"

A member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters since 2006, David was honored as a "Signature Member" of the Oil Painters of America (OPA) in 2023. He was featured in Southwest Art Magazine’s "Artists to Watch" (2004) and multiple "Landscape" issues (2009, 2013).
